The Tour Director’s role

The best part of any EF tour is having an insightful, culturally connected Tour Director who’ll be with the group from the moment they clear customs to the last hug goodbye. Tour Directors are on-tour travel gurus who provide 24/7 support for Group Leaders and travelers. They add the personality and logistical wizardry that make our tours shine, and keep it all moving behind the scenes. Our Tour Directors are:

    Tour Directors are full of cultural and historical knowledge only a local would have and are comfortable communicating in foreign languages.

  • Professional

    Tour Directors undergo a background check, are skilled at handling groups, and stay with groups through the day and night, ensuring safety for each traveler.

  • Teachers at heart

    Tour Directors make tours educational—from delivering illuminating commentary to enabling hands-on learning, they do it all.


Group Leaders will receive an email from their Tour Director a few days before departure to discuss group requests, medical conditions, and any other important details. In the meantime, meet a few of our Tour Directors and learn about some of their favorite travel spots here.
